Spot Problem Areas Fast!

Tops:

#1 problem area: ARMPITS – look for pilling, halo stains, holes in seams, and deodorant marks.

#2 problem area: Sleeve cuffs & hems – look for stains on cuffs and dropped hems.

#3 problem area: Inner Collar – check those necks! Staining happens quickly on light colored garments, and makeup marks are easy to spot.

Denim & Bottoms:

#1 problem area: CROTCH – look out for the elastic bubble stretch and pilling that happens with wear.

#2 problem area: Zippers – broken or off-track zippers.

#3 problem area: Ankle cuffs – check for worn cuffs, if they are distressed denim, this look will make sense.

Sweaters & Fuzzy Things:

#1 problem area: ARMPITS & SIDES – look closely in the armpit, upper sleeve, and sides of sweaters. If pilling is highly visible, please pass.

#2 problem area: SHRUNKEN! – wool blends can shrink, if it looks like a child’s size, it has probably shrunk in the wash. Check the tag size, if it says Large but it looks like an XXS, it’s probably shrunken.

#3 problem area: Cuffs & Hems – check those hems for loose stitching and check those cuffs for stains.

Shoes:

#1 problem area: Scuffing & Dirt – look at the toe and heel areas, if they are scuffed/dirty/worn, please pass.

#2 problem area: Soles – if they are missing a heel fob or have a slanted area on the heel (or sole) from wear, please pass.

#3 problem area: BUCKLE ELASTIC – check the little elastic/fabric around a buckle, they wear out and fray.

#4 problem area: INSIDES – if the material on the inside of a shoe is cracking, CRUMBLING, or torn – please pass.

Bags:

#1 problem area: STRAPS – watch out for cracking, fraying, and missing components.

#2 problem area: Zipper/Closure Malfunction – check the zippers and closures to make sure they work.

#3 problem area: INTERIOR – is it torn, overly worn, or dirty? Pass.

Dresses:

#1 problem area: Straps & zippers – look out for strap tears by the seam & broken or ‘popped’ zippers (the ones that are popping out of the seam).

#2 problem area: DROPPED HEM – make sure the stitching of the hem is not torn or falling.

#3 problem area: ARM PITS – Look out for deodorant & pilling.

#4 problem area: SEQUINS/EMBELISHMENTS – if it’s an all over style, look closely for patchy areas of missing bead, sequins, etc. ALSO, look out for snagged areas under the arms.

Coats/Jackets

#1 problem area: CLOSURES – check those closures first. Missing buttons? Broken zipper? Poorly attached buttons? Pass on these please.

#2 problem area: CUFFS & NECKLINE – look out for stains, makeup marks, and wear.

#3 problem area: Lining - if the lining at the armpits or back is ripped, please pass.
